Story

For those of you who aren't familiar with the National Three Peaks Challenge, let me enlighten you! Over the 2nd/3rd July 2015, I will be climbing the 3 highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in a gruelling 24hr marathon. Here's what Brian Smailes, author and expeditionist, says in his guide to the challenge:

'The effort required to complete the National Three Peaks cannot be underestimated. The lack of proper sleep, food, and comfort does take its toll on people of all ages, particularly those in mid life--' Oops! Oh well...

Many people describe this as one of the ultimate challenges in the UK. In real terms that means for me:

- Over 11,000 feet climbed and 25 miles covered to reach the summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

- Nearly  500 miles of driving and one of the mountains climbed in the dark (head-torch definitely required!) to complete the challenge on time within 24 hours!

...that's all presuming I don't fall down a gully!

On top of this I am going it alone (no team or chauffeur-driven minibus!) and have chosen some of the harder routes to follow up these three incredible mountains.

Please sponsor me to complete this challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK. I am raising money following my dad's recent illness and your generosity will make this challenge really worthwhile.

Best wishes,

Christian
